Decorate Your Space With Laundry Room Accessories
When you think about how much time you spend in this traditionally small room, don't you think you deserve a few laundry room accessories to brighten your day and make your chores easier? Why is it that most spaces are boring, lifeless, cluttered and undecorated?
You can pick up endless helpful accessories on sale super cheap either online or at your favorite store. You don't have to have built in cabinets installed to make this a room you might want to take your coffee and a magazine in to relax and wait to switch the loads.
Table
If you have the space, add a folding table and a nice chair. This gives you a surface to fold clothes or lay delicate items flat to dry. Even if you don't have room for a full table, a small TV tray would be helpful or you can mount a retractable ironing board to your wall. These make fabulous tables.
Paint
While you don't have to do an entire laundry room remodel, a fresh, bright coat of paint will make a huge differences. Chances are, you are the only person in the house who uses the laundry room so if you want to venture away from white and play with color, go right ahead and do it! Be sure to hang a photo or a piece of art on the wall as well.
Curtains
Most laundry rooms have a small window yet few actually have curtains. A small curtain will cost you nearly nothing. Also, if your laundry room is off the kitchen or doesn't have a door, hang a tension or shower curtain rod and then hang a decorative curtain to divide the space.
Essential Accessories
Make a list of all of the accessories you would like to have before you go to the store and allow yourself a set amount of money to spend only on your laundry room. Rubbermaid containers are a must have in various sizes. If you have walls, you need shelves. These are important to store your detergent and other essentials in. Most laundry rooms end up accumulating other odds and ends like extra pet food, leashes, pain, mops, spare blankets, etc., so the more helpful organizers that you have, the less cluttered your space will be.
Laundry room accessories should not be dismissed as unnecessary. You spend a great amount of time in here, why enter and immediately have your spirits lowered by drab white walls, a cluttered mess and a blank window? Do something spectacular with this valuable room!
